Real Madrid, missing Cristiano Ronaldo because of a sanction, defeated Real Sociedad 4-1 in a game of the 21 date of the Spanish League held in the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, with Mexican Javier Hernández actually getting to play this time.
And Carlos Vela had to leave Sociedad alone on the field, due to an injury in his leg.
The score was opened early on, just after 40 seconds, by Aritz Alustondo. A minute later, Colombian James Rodríguez scored the tie.
Just 13 minutes into the match, Carlos Vela complained of some pain and fell to the ground. He was unable to continue and was substituted at 16 by Agirretxe.
Sergio Ramos broke the tie at 37, and then Karim Benzema got the third and fourth goals for Madrid at 51 and 76.
Due to the clear display of power from Madrid, coach Carlo Ancelotti opted on the 80 minute to give some play time to Mexican Javier Hernández and German Sami Khedira; letting Benzema and Tony Kroos. But it was to no avail.
After the game, Real Madrid remains on top of the Spanish League, while Real Sociedad is pretty much in the middle of the road, with the complications caused by an injured Carlos Vela.
