Violence leaves 14 dead in Tamaulipas in 48 hours

In the last 48 hours, clashes in
Tamaulipas left 14 dead.
Yesterday, a group of gunmen in Ciudad
Madero shot the driver of a truck and the person that traveled next to
him.
On Friday, three men were killed in
Tampico by gunmen that shot from a moving car in two separate incidents.
The Tamaulipas Coordination Group
informed that the attacks began on Friday as a result of an internal fight
among the members of a criminal group that operates in the area.
On Friday 10 people were killed in
Reynosa.
In Tampico, a blockade
on the Tampico-Ciudad Valles highway was reported on Saturday. Also,
unknown persons stopped a tank truck above the Moralillo bridge and set it on fire.
Tampico, where 30 people have been
killed this year in clashes among criminal gangs, is one of the three most
violent municipalities of Tamaulipas, along with Reynosa and Ciudad
Victoria.
On Sunday, around 2,000 citizens marched in Tampico to demand authorities to restore peace in the state.
