Six people killed in clashes in Tamaulipas
At least six people have been killed in two days of violent clashes in the townships of Madero and Tampico, according to federal and state authorities.
In a report by the Coordination Group for Tamaulipas, formed by state and federal forces, the clashes occurred on Saturday and Sunday and a woman is among the dead.
One of the clashes began at 3:10 pm Sunday, in a hotel in the central area of Madero, where two unidentified men shot and killed two hosts and a female worker.
A few minutes later, at 3:30, in the city of Madero, people on board a white VW Jetta shot and killed an unidentified man. Ten minutes later, the authorities were notified of another dead man left on the street.
On Saturday night, in Tampico, groups of civilians confronted each other, but when the authorities arrived to the scene they found only blood, cars with bullet holes and shell casings all over the place.
Previously, last Saturday night, military personnel was attacked by a group of civilians believed to be involved in another incident on Friday.
