The French president, Francois Hollande, will conduct an official visit to Mexico, in order to promote bilateral commerce and investment, and agreements on security, education, health and culture with his colleague Enrique Peña Nieto.

Hollande will arrive in Mexico around 11:00 pm Wednesday, but his activities for a “new chapter on the bilateral relationship” will start the next day, said diplomatic sources.

On Thursday, Hollande will visit the Monument for the Boy Heroes in Mexico City, and then will meet president Peña Nieto and his Cabinet in the equestrian venue of Campo Marte, where both heads of state will meet in private to discuss the bilateral agenda. Afterwards, Peña Nieto and Hollande could deliver a message to media on midday and then sign a series of agreements, among them a letter of intention on energy matters.

Hollande will also meet with members of the French community in Mexico and visit the Senate, and later he will have a dinner hosted by Peña Nieto in the National Palace.

On Friday, he will receive the keys to the city of Mexico and then will participate in an economic forum in the offices of the Foreign Affairs Ministry along Peña Nieto.

Both presidents will also visit the archaeological zone of Teotihuacan and then the city of Queretaro, to inaugurate an aeronautic campus in an area with very strong French investments.
