Mother of Amado Carrillo dies of a heart attack

Aurora Fuentes, mother of reputed drug kingpins Vicente and Amado Carrillo Fuentes, died of a heart attack. She was 69.
Ms Fuentes died Monday in the Women’s Hospital in Culiacan after a long lasting ailment. Her body was taken to a funeral parlour and then to El Guamuchilito, a small community in the municipality of Navolato, west of Culiacan.
Her son Amado was known as the “Lord of the Skies” for the use of an air fleet employed in the transportation of drugs from Colombia to the US.
Her husband Vicente Carrillo died 37 years ago, leaving her with 14 children, eight of them women.
Amado Carrillo died on July 3, 1997, in a Mexican hospital after undergoing extensive plastic surgery to change his appearance.
His body was supposed to lay in his mother’s property, where Ms Fuentes spent her days farming goats and growing vegetables.
