The first international animation film about the Day of the Dead celebration will be directed by Jorge R. Gutierrez and produced by Guillermo del Toro.

The Mexican actor and director Diego Luna will give voice to Manolo, a young bullfighter that wants to be a musician in the animation film "El libro de la vida", directed by Jorge R. Gutierrez and produced by Guillermo del Toro.

In a video, the actor said he felt fortunate to participate in the first international animation film about the Day of the Dead celebration. I will give voice to Manolo, "the main character who has to face his fears to recover the love of his life."

In the film, that will be opened on October 17, Luna will play the character of a young man forced to become a bullfighter to continue family tradition but that actually dislikes killing animals. What he really wants is to play his guitar and sing, so Luna will be heard singing Cafe Tacvba and Radiohead songs.

"El libro de la vida" is a movie with colorful characters based on stories that director Jorge R. Gutierrez heard when he was a child.

Other actors that will participate in the movie are Channing Tatum, Zoe Saldaña, Ana de la Reguera, Danny Trejo, Ron Perlman, Christina Applegate, Kate del Castillo and Eugenio Derbez.
