Tricio Gómez headed the transition from glass bottles to milk cartons in the industry

Eduardo Tricio Gómez, founder of Grupo Lala, died Sunday in the city of Torreón, Coahuila, according to company sources.

The 85-year-old businessman, father of current board president Eduardo Tricio Haro, began his career in 1950 with then Pasteurizadora Laguna, which eventually would become Grupo Lala with the automatization of the milking system.

Through Grupo Lala, he promoted the change from glass bottles to the current milk cartons in the 60s.

Lala has been listed in the Mexican Stock Market (BMV) since 2013, and has 17 distribution plants and 161 distribution centers in Mexico and Central America. The company has more than 31.000 workers and a fleet of 7.300 vehicles to distribute more than 600 different products.
