A Criminal Court issued an arrest
warrant against the priest Eduardo Córdova Bautista, charged with sexual abuse,
corruption of minors and unlawful deprivation of liberty to the detriment of 19
children.
The Attorney General of San Luis Potosí, Miguel Ángel García
Covarrubias, said that they will request the support from
all prosecutor's offices in the country to find and arrest the priest
Eduardo Córdova, and if necessary they
will request the Interpol to issue a "red card" for international
search.
García Covarrubias said that Córdova
Bautista is now considered a fugitive from justice.
He also said that investigations are conducted to determine
the whereabouts of the former legal representative of the Archdiocese of San
Luis Potosí.
Civil organizations that support the victims say that Córdova sexually abused at least 100 minors in 30 years. The victims belonged to schools or institutions where Córdova worked as priest, counselor, teacher or spiritual guide.
