Parents of Ayotzinapa students travel to UN office in Geneva

Bernabé Abraham and Hilda Legideño, parents of missing teachers in training, will ask the UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances (CED) to demand the Mexican government the immediate clarification of the case.

Bernabé Abraham and Hilda Legideño, parents of student teachers of Ayotzinapa missing since September 26, traveled to Geneva, Switzerland to ask the UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances (CED) to demand the Mexican government the immediate clarification of the case.

"Our government has not given us answers, so that's why we are going to the UN," Bernabé said.

"We want the truth and we want justice, we are going to demand the return of our children," Hilda said.

The parents are traveling with two lawyers, from the Miguel Agustin Pro Juarez and the Montaña Tlachinollan Human Rights Centers.

The UN Committee will hold constructive dialogues with the respective State delegations and also hear from NGOs and national human rights institutions.
