places in Mexico due to threats to safety and security posed by organized
criminal groups in the country.
According to the latest travel warning casinos, sports books, or other gambling and adult entertainment establishments are "of particular safety concern".
It added that 81 U.S. citizens were murdered in Mexico in 2013 and 100 more last year, and that "more than 130 kidnappings of U.S. citizens were reported to the
U.S. Embassy and consulates in Mexico between January and November of 2014."
The Department of State also recommended traveling between cities throughout Mexico only during daylight hours, to avoid isolated roads, and to use toll roads whenever possible.
