Class action lawsuit filed against Grupo México

50 people of Sonora, legally assisted by the state government, filed a class action lawsuit against the company.

"We had enough of Grupo México and its lack of responsibility for the spill that affects the lives of over 22,000 people" said Roberto Romero López, head of Sonora government and also announced that a class action lawsuit against the company was field.

At a press conference, the state official said that citizens stopped believing in the promises of Grupo México and the proof is the lawsuit filed by 50 people, because "the people of the Sonora River does not live on promises or good intentions."

"Today, 50 people of the region, legally assisted by the state government, filed a class action lawsuit at the Ninth District Court and I was informed that about 300 more people will join the lawsuit in the coming days," the official said. 

"We will use the full force of the state to demand Grupo México to face its responsability" he said.
