The reactions of the manager of Mexico's national soccer team were highlighted by the foreign press.

After achieving a remarkable triumph that took Mexico to the next round of the World Cup, the president of the Mexican Soccer Federation, Justino Compeán, hugged Miguel Herrera.

It was a well deserved recognition. With just six months of work, "El Piojo", as the trainer is better known, took the national soccer team to its fourth World Cup match.

As soon as yesterday's game against Croatia finished, Herrera said: "This is a very happy day because the guys showed their worth, and more happy days are coming".

And he added: "I do not know if I was the right person, but I thank the 18 owners of soccer teams who chose me. All I have tried to show is that I want to give my best, with great determination. For now, we are focused on the match against The Netherlands".

However, other than this accomplishment, one of the highlights of the match were Herrera's boisterous reactions. During the game against Croatia, he was seen gesturing when faults were committed and celebrating bombastically when goals were scored.

ABC News said that Herrera "cheered every goal with a passion fit for a telenovela", while The Huffington Post said: "One look at Herrera tells you how combustible a figure he is. During El Tri's 3-1 defeat of Croatia, he raged at a penalty, went loco at Rafael Márquez's opener and was bowled by Paul Aguilar whilst celebrating Andrés Guardado's clincher."
